Hatha Yoga Program
Isha Hatha Yoga is an opportunity to learn classical practices maintained in their full purity and vibrancy. These are offered not merely as physical exercises, but as a holistic process to align the body, mind and energy system and bring a deeper sense of wellbeing.
Yogasanas
The word asana literally means posture. Isha’s Yogasanas are a subtle process for changing energy in the system to straighten out physical and mental imbalances. The program is offered as a set of 36 powerful postures that require no special agility or previous experience.
- A gentle path to improved health, balance and focus
- Supports the evolution of body and mind toward a higher possibility
- Stabilizes the body, mind and energy system
- Helps decelerate the ageing process
Yogasanas are not simply physical movements; they are designed to enable the human system to sustain higher dimensions of energy and improve the experience of deeper practices such as kriyas and meditation.
Surya Kriya
“Surya” means sun and “kriya” means inner energy process. Surya Kriya is a powerful yogic practice that activates the solar plexus and raises samat prana, the solar heat in the system.
- Develops mental clarity and focus
- Remedies weak constitutions
- Boosts vigor and vitality
- Balances hormonal levels in the body
- Prepares one for deeper states of meditation
Surya Kriya balances the left and right energy channels, creating stability in the body and stillness in the mind.
Angamardana
Angamardana means gaining mastery over the limbs, organs and other parts of the body. It is a yoga-rooted fitness system that revitalizes the body and prepares it for the full depth of Hatha Yoga.
- Strengthens the spine, skeletal system and muscular system
- Builds physical strength, fitness and tenacity
- Takes years off the body, bringing lightness and freedom
- Prepares the body for Hatha Yoga
These practices are accessible to everyone and require no equipment, making them practical for daily life and travel.
Bhuta Shuddhi
Bhuta Shuddhi means purification of the elements. It is a process for harmonising the five elements within the human system: earth, water, wind, fire and space.
- Keeps the system in harmony and balance
- Prepares the system to handle powerful states of energy
- Enhances the capability of body, mind and energy
- Creates the basis for mastery over the human system
This process is offered as an opportunity for anyone to benefit from an esoteric yogic science that supports overall wellbeing.
